….until I get my husband back! Bryan will finish his tour as a USMC Drill Instructor this coming Wednesday and I am beyond thrilled. I am very proud of him, what he has done for our country, and what he has accomplished during this tour but it has been a looooong 39 months (including DI school). It will be nice to have a 2nd parent around here again - every day. This ‘single’ parent stuff is not easy at all. Big kudos to the single parents that work full time and raise children. I at least had a date in sight when I knew it would end.
Bryan will be taking a leave of absence for the month of November and he will check into his new unit in early December. This break couldn’t have come at a better time as far as my photography business is concerned. I am so busy with all my holiday sessions and holiday orders that having him home will let me get sessions processed in a much more efficient rate with less interruptions. It will be good for him and the boys to spend some good quality time together too.
We are also going on a much needed child-less vacation during the month of November to Cabo San Lucas. I can’t wait to just sit by the pool, sleep in, drink a margarita (or two), and RELAX. Ahhhh….
With that, I will leave you with a photo of Dylan. He was so (unbelievably) cooperative and I was able to get so many adorable shots of him in his train conductor costume. Trains are BIG in this house. Real Big.

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween!
PS: Happy Birthday to our Hally Dog who turned 7 today! She was born just a few hours before Halloween, which is how we chose her name, Hally (pronounced “Holly”). Hally got a giant box of biscuits and some rawhide bones for her birthday. She was in heaven!

This afternoon I put on Elmo’s Potty Time for the kids because I’d like to start potty training Gavin. I think he is ready. So, I was off doing some things around the house while the boys were content watching the video. I heard the “potty rap” and then I heard the final “potty” song. Then I heard Gavin yelling “heeeeellllllp. ooooouuuuut. mommy heeeeeelllp. ooooooout”. I found him in the bathroom up to his armpits in the toilet bowl, legs sticking out fully clothed. Instead of helping him out, I went and got my camera. So wrong, I know.

“oooooooouut!”

I bet my parents are finding this post VERY amusing. When I was a little girl I was in the backyard swimming and I had to go “potty” so I rushed inside and since I was still wet, I slipped into the toilet up to my armpits. My dad found me and instead of helping me out, he went and got everyone else that was at the house to come look. I always hated that story and thought it was so mean, until today, when I got to witness my child doing the same thing. Now I can’t stop laughing.
Here are a couple more of Gavin I took earlier this month that I thought were funny:
Bryan was taking Dylan to the Miramar Air Show so I packed Dylan’s other backpack with some snacks and clothes. Then Dylan put on his backpack and shoes and Gavin wanted to do the same. This is what he came up with….
This ensemble kills me.
Dancing to something. Probably the Imagination Movers.

There is never a dull moment in our house!

Last weekend I had my largest family photo session to date down in Newport Beach. It was 13 beautiful people spanning 3 generations. Such a fun, loving, & good looking family!
I took a ton of photos and I really don’t know how wedding photographers do it. For the large group photos I had to take several shots of the same pose because I knew I would have some head swapping to do, especially since children were involved. Kids don’t sit still very long.
You will be seeing more than one sneak peek from this session. There are so many that I love and want to share! Stay tuned later this week for part two…..

Grandma & Grandpa bought the kids these outfits in Hawaii. They look so cute!

Then there was an outfit change. They coordinated so well. I was very pleased with their outfit choices!

This one is an outtake, but I thought it was funny.

K, P, & E families….I hope you all enjoyed your sneak peek!
